American White Oak Benchtops are a global favorite due to their timeless appeal and superior moisture resistance. The presence of "tyloses" in the wood’s cellular structure makes it naturally more resistant to liquids than other hardwoods—a critical advantage for kitchen and laundry surfaces. With a Janka hardness of 6.0 kN, it is highly durable and resistant to denting. Its distinctive grain, ranging from straight lines to elegant "ray flecks," provides a classic texture that suits both traditional farmhouse styles and modern minimalist designs.

I ordered custom 50mm thick tassie oak stair treads and winders for a staircase and they came up a treat. WR timbers did a fantastic job with the stair treads, and they also had a prompt turnaround time. Very happy and I would highly recommend them.
